MOD Pizza serving up slices and donating to charity

MOD Pizza is celebrating their grand opening by donating a day's worth of pizza sales to a local non-profit.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —

Pizza lovers rejoice! There's another place to pick up a pie.

MOD Pizza just opened a second West Michigan location and already has big plans.

Their newest location is located at 3300 Alpine Ave. NW, Suite 101 -- near Chipotle and Target. The chain serves made-on-demand salads, pizzas and deserts. There are more than 30 toppings, 6 sauces, 7 cheeses and 2 crusts options. There are also options for those who are gluten free, vegan and those with special allergies.

In honor of opening their first Grand Rapids location, on May 30 local firefighters, police, EMT and veterans can all show a badge or proof of service for a free lunch. But even more exciting, every time MOD Pizza opens a new location, they also celebrate by donating 100% of the pizza sales that day to a local nonprofit. On May 30 they're partnering with Family Promise of Grand Rapids

The chain has plans to open a second Grand Rapids location at the Centerpointe Mall near 28th Street and the East Beltline.
