GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Have you been interested in using a ham bone, but didn't know where to start? No worries!
Mercy Health Sous Chef Tommy Fitzgerald joined My West Michigan to share a recipe using a ham hock and a slow cooker.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1 ham bone(hock)
1 lb dry black beans
1 cup chopped carrot
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup diced peppers
1 T cumin
1 T chili powder
1 T Kosher Salt
1/2 T black pepper
8 Cups Water
Put all in the slow cooker on high for at least 4 hours.
Serve with quesadillas!
