Burgers and hot dogs aren't the only things that can go on the barbecue. Veggies can be grilled up too. Chef Char Morse joined us with some awesome ways to give asparagus a great grilled flavor.
Asparagus Straight off the Grill
Ingredients
- Asparagus
- Olive Oil
Directions
- Coat asparagus lightly in olive oil.
- Place directly on hot grill.
- Heat 7 minutes turning occasionally.
- Salt asparagus after cooking.
Asparagus over Foil
Ingredients
- Asparagus
- Olive Oil or Ghee
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
- Line asparagus over sheet of foil.
- Lightly drizzle with olive oil or melted ghee.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Heat 7-10 minutes, turning occasionally.
Asparagus Foil Packet
Ingredients
- Asparagus
- Olive oil or Ghee
- 4-5 slices prosciutto, broken into pieces
- 1/3 cup shredded Italian cheese
- 1-2 teaspoons lemon zest
Directions
- Lightly coat asparagus with olive oil or ghee.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese, lemon zest, and place prosciutto evenly across asparagus.
- Wrap foil into packet around asparagus and place on shelf above grill, off direct heat.
- Allow to cook 15 minutes or more until asparagus is tender and chese melted.
Himalayan Salt Block Asparagus
Ingredients
- Asparagus
- Olive oil or Ghee
Directions
- Heat salt block on grill 5-10 minutes before using.
- Coat asparagus with olive oil or ghee and lay directly on salt block.
- Turn asparagus after 4 minutes.
- Heat until asparagus is tender, about 7-10 minutes.
