GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The popular Christkindl Markt is coming back to Grand Rapids this November after its inaugural season in 2023.

General manager of the Christkindl Markt, Karen Carpenter said last year's event brought in about 240,000 people and this year should be "bigger and better."

"So this past year, our inaugural year, we had about 30 vendor booths that were available for people to visit. And this year, we're going to have over 60. So we're growing it in the number of vendors and growing it in the activities, and hopefully the impact on the community," said Carpenter.

This year's market will kick off on Friday, Nov. 15 and will run through Monday, Dec. 23. It is closed on Thanksgiving.

The Christkindl Markt sets up at the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids and features foods, drinks, crafts and more.

The entire market looks like a Christmas village, lined with vendors with decorated stalls. In addition to shopping, patrons can enjoy live holiday entertainment and festive family fun.

"We'll also have a new Glühwein mug design and the new stein design. So that'll be really fun. We're going to turn them into collector's items, and some different and fun vendors. Maybe a little more curling, but we'll talk about that a little bit more as we as we finalize some plans," Carpenter added.
