'I'm just gonna keep adding on' | Grand Rapids woman starts decorating for Halloween Labor Day weekend!

The homeowner said Halloween is her favorite holiday, and that some year soon she hopes to decorate the whole block.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Setting off fireworks on July 1, putting the Christmas tree up in November, pulling out the summer wardrobe with snow still on the ground — people often get antsy to celebrate holidays and might jump the gun at times.

Homeowner Kelly Stickney started decorating her Grand Rapids home for Halloween over Labor Day weekend.

"We did just one piece at a time," said Stickney. "I'm just gonna keep adding on and adding on."

Stickney said Halloween is her favorite holiday, and that some year soon she hopes to have the whole block on Coldbrook Street decorated.

"This is the biggest one I've done," Stickney said. "We started out small, just a couple little pieces."

Stickney said she loves when neighbors come to see the house.

"The kids come around and to see their faces, how excited they are to look at the decorations," she said.

While she loves decorating for others to enjoy, she also said she loves it for herself.

"It just makes me smile to see all the decorations."
