It may be a new year, but some things just never change.
Unfortunately, that includes Michigan's taste in garbage candy corn.
CandyStore.com has unveiled its highly anticipated 2018 Halloween Candy Map, revealing the most popular Halloween candy in every state based on "11 years of data," and the Great Lakes State had a golden opportunity to correct a major wrong from last year.
But, just like the Detroit Lions, Michigan disappointed us yet again. Its most popular candy is, once again, candy corn. For the third consecutive year.
And it's really not all that close, given that Michigan has sold more than 150,000 pounds of candy corn, followed by 132,000 pounds of Starburst and 78,000 pounds of Skittles.
Think about that for a second. 150,000 pounds of candy corn. I'd rather have 150,000 pounds of sand in my house.
And not only that, but pieces of candy corn are relatively small compared to the likes of, say, Twix bars and salt water taffy ... which means people not only enjoy eating candy corn, they enjoy eating a lot of candy corn.

And, like last year, Michigan isn't the only state fond of miniature construction cones; Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa, Alabama and Rhode Island also
OK, that's all I have. Maybe next year, folks. Consume responsibly.
And by responsibly, I mean like this.
