WHITEHALL, Mich. - Some local middle school students are getting into the holiday spirit with music -- and flash mobs.
Above is video from last year, when fifth through eighth graders at New Era Christian School busted out the band instruments to play and sign at two nursing homes. In between those stops, they led four flash mobs four different businesses.
Phil Morse tells me that while the kids were performing, some of the nursing home residents had tears in their eyes. Afterward, the students mingled with the residents, who made them feel so welcome. He calls it a beautiful exchange and an opportunity for the kids to both grow in - and share - their faith.
Again, that video was from last year, but they're doing it again on Dec. 11! Here's their tentative schedule:
- Leave NECS - 9 a.m.
- Arrive at Heartland Care Facility - 9:20 a.m.
- Depart - 9:50 a.m.
- Arrive at Wal-Mart - 10 a.m.
- Depart - 11 a.m.
- Arrive at McDonalds in Hart - 11:20 a.m.
- Eat lunch there
- Depart - 12:15 p.m.
- Arrive at Hansens - 12:30 p.m.
- Depart - 12:45 p.m.
- Arrive at Oceana Care Facility - 1 p.m.
- Depart - 2 p.m.
