Grand Rapids to honor those who served with annual Veterans Day Parade

Saturday's parade starts at 10 a.m. on Division under the I-196 overpass and ends at Veterans Memorial Park on Fulton.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Saturday is Veterans Day, and you're invited to honor their service to our country with Grand Rapids' annual Veterans Day Parade.

It begins at 10 a.m. on Division under the I-196 overpass. From there, the parade continues south to Fulton, then east to Veterans Memorial Park on Fulton.

A Ceremony of Remembrance takes place immediately after the parade.

This year 13 ON YOUR SIDE is partnering with the Kent County Veteran Services to recognize veterans and bring attention to the many free services available to them.

Several programs are paid for with money from a voter-approved millage and include assistance with housing food, and health services—including acupuncture.

As part of Operation Greenlight, the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weatherball will be lit green on Saturday and Sunday along with other Kent County landmarks.

You're invited to use a green porch light to show your support.

If you would like more information about free veteran services, head over to the Kent County Veteran Services website.
