GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Are you ready to adopt a new furry friend? Meet Gary!
Gary is available for adoption from Michele's Rescue in West Michigan.
He is one of more than a dozen dogs that were rescued from an abandoned shelter in Honduras.
Gary's foster mom said he's a sweet, playful, dog who loves tennis balls, going for walks and cuddles.
Gary used to live in a kennel with dirt floors in Roatan, so he's enjoying all the soft spots to lay around the house.
The almost 3-year-old gets along with his foster canine siblings very well. His foster mom said his forever home should have other dogs for him to play with and that he can even go into a home with cats.
He manages being in the crate while his foster mom is at work.
Gary is getting used to a daily routine, including going to the bathroom after eating and before bedtime.
His foster said Gary can be shy at first but he loves company.
His future family needs to be patient with him because he's been on quite the journey to get here.
Gary arrived in Grand Rapids a week ago along with 31 other dogs. About half are still available for adoption.
