CJ: First few days with the WZZM 13 Paws with a Cause puppy

WZZM 13 Health Reporter Valerie Lego gives us a look at the first few days with CJ.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — On this National Pet Day it seems only right that we talk about the health benefits of pets.

Researchers say they can ease the symptoms of depression with their unconditional love, relieve loneliness and even lower blood pressure.

Studies have also found pet owners have less trouble sleeping and better overall health.

WZZM 13 Health Reporter Valerie Lego has found this to be true in only the first few days of having CJ, the new WZZM Paws with a Cause assistance dog in training puppy that she’ll be raising over the next 12 to 14 months.

CJ had a busy first couple of days. Her first official Paws outing was on Friday with a trip to the post office and Grand Central Market on Monroe Center.

Over the weekend, CJ discovered snow and took a lot of naps. But, it was back to work on Monday.

You can follow CJ's journey to becoming an assistance dog through Paws with a Cause on her Facebook page and on Instagram.
