GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — A historic neighborhood in Grand Rapids is hosting its annual tour of homes in May.
The Heritage Hill Weekend Tour of Homes is celebrating its 53rd year in 2024, showcasing one of the country's largest urban historic districts in the country.
Heritage Hill is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places with more than 1,300 homes dating back as far as 1843.
The tour will include seven private homes and Frank Lloyd Wright's Meyer May House. Most of the homes on the tour were built over a century ago, the Heritage Hill Association says.
Some of the homes on the tour include a home of a lumber baron, a small studio apartment, a Victorian Era mansion and a modern home built just a few years ago.
The tour of homes is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. Tickets are on sale now for $20 at HeritageHillWeb.org. They can also be purchased in advance at select Lake Michigan Credit Union Locations, Martha's Vineyard and Art of the Table.
Tickets are also available the days of the tour at a ticket booth at GRCC DeVos Campus for $27.
The proceeds from the tour benefit the Heritage Hill Association.
There will also be food trucks parked on the 100 block of Prospect Ave SE next to Foster Park during the tour. Another food truck will also be located at one of the featured tour homes.
