Thousands of West Michigan families in need to be impacted by 'Top off the Truck' diaper drive

The event aims to collect diapers for thousands of families in need in West Michigan.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Catholic Charities West Michigan is hosting ‘Top off the Truck’ where they pack a truck full of donated diapers for the St. Gianna’s No Cost Baby Boutique.

The boutique says it serves thousands of families each month in West Michigan and has two locations in Grand Rapids and Muskegon.

Families are provided with about 8,000 diapers each week, the organization says. The boutique serves 11 counties across West Michigan and provides free resources to families who suffer from financial burdens.

“This is an essential need and a resource for parents that they need to have,” Director of Development and Community Outreach Karol Maurer said. “So the diapers are the one thing that we do have to purchase. You know, our community is so supportive, but we're giving out around 8,000 individual diapers a week so that just speaks for itself.”

In addition to stuffing the truck, the event will provide photobooths and activities for those who offer a donation. The event is located at Sun Title, 385 Leonard St. NE Grand Rapids, MI.

‘Top off the Truck’ kicks off at noon and ends at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18.
