GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A company spokesperson confirmed Monday that Amway is laying off some of its employees.
The multi-billion dollar company says it's in the process of making changes to multiple departments which have resulted in some job cuts. However, a company spokesperson would not say how many positions are being eliminated.
Some of the departments impacted include the legal department, human resources, finance and supply chain. Amway says the changes made are to "remain competitive in the global market."
In a statement, Amway said, "...we are making changes to our global operations in key back-office functions. We have begun communicating these changes to our employees and will be sharing more with them in the coming weeks."
Amway has 16,000 employees worldwide and last year had $8.8 billion in sales with a majority of that coming from its nutritional products.
