GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer has finished construction on the gas station near the Bridge Street Market in downtown Grand Rapids.
The gas station and convenience store, located at 420 Stocking Ave. at the corner of Stocking and Bridge streets, is right beside the Bridge Street Market. It officially opened on Thursday, March 5.
The station has 4 pumps and the store features everything from breakfast sandwiches to hot dogs to popcorn and even ice cream. It's called the Stockbridge Meijer Express, and Meijer hopes it will be a walkable neighborhood destination for Westsiders.
Stockbridge Express will be open from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
The Stockbridge Express is just one of many updates to the Bridge Street Market since it opened back in August 2018. Back in January, the market began offering Shipt services and last summer, it got a little more pet-friendly with the installation of two smart doghouses outside.
This summer, the Bridge Street Market will have operated downtown Grand Rapids for 2 years.
