GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — November is Neighborhood Toy Store Month and a Grand Haven store is encouraging people to visit by holding events.
MACkite in Downtown Grand Haven is holding themed events all month long.
Wednesday night's theme was "BRIO Train Play Day."
The store had playmats and train sets out for young shoppers to play with.
The store manager, Caleb Berko, said it's all about bringing joy to the community.
"It's important to provide a sense of light, to provide a sense of fun, to be a source for fun, and to provide a sense of joy for people in our community. And it's just been a ton of fun to get to see new faces, see familiar faces, come back into the store, and to get to see people during this fun, expectant time as we all kind of move toward this holiday season," said Berko.
If you're hoping to get some Christmas shopping done while supporting a local toy store, MACkite has more events coming up.
Their next event is the Genius Square Battle on Saturday. Shoppers can face off in a two-person puzzle game.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday it's open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
