GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — There is a brand-new coffee shop and wine bar that has everything you need in one place.
Located in the East Hills neighborhood on Cherry Street is Chateau Grand Rapids.
The owners are a husband and wife from Michigan that were inspired to open the business after their travels around the world.
“We just love the European café culture where you could kind of, you know, get your feet up and enjoy a cup of coffee or enjoy a glass of wine and, and be with the community, we think is really special. So we wanted to bring some of that here to Grand Rapids," Chris Swart, co-owner, said.
The vibe inside the historic space is a mix of New York style and European flair.
“Lighting was the key, finding soft lighting, that would work for the space colors that would complement the existing brickwork so you see the green, the medium toned, white oak millwork," Swart said.
Chateau Grand Rapids has a unique selection of SEY Coffee and soon a wide variety of French, German, and Spanish wine will be available starting on Valentine’s Day.
“On our wine side what makes us unique is we're offering a lot of wines that you can't already get in Grand Rapids, you won't see a lot of overlap between our list and other wine bars or other restaurants in the city,” Allaire Swart, co-owner, said.
A nice pastry selection from Field and Fire and smaller bites will satisfy your appetite.
The business already a big hit with the community.
“We want our team to do really well and, and everyone here is a partner. Everyone here has a has a say in how the business gets run and they are critical to our success.”

You can make reservations for Chateau Grand Rapids but walk-ins are also welcome.
