GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — American Freight, a furniture chain store operating across the US, announced it's closing all stores earlier this month.
That list includes all 14 Michigan locations, with Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Portage and Battle Creek stores slated to close following a final sale of inventory.
American Freight's parent company Franchise Group, Inc. started Chapter 11 proceedings in US Bankruptcy Court, and Hilco Consumer-Retail is handling the final sales.
"Our goal is to deliver outstanding value to customers during this full chain closing sale," Ian Fredericks, CEO of Hilco Consumer-Retail said. "Everything is on sale and must be sold, and we recommend shopping early for the best selection."
The company launched in 1994 and operates more than 328 stores across the United States.
American Freight is known for its affordable furniture, mattresses and home appliance offerings.
You can find appliances like fridges, ovens, washers & dryers, bed sets, couches and dining tables.
During the closing sale, you can find up to 40% off furniture, scratch & dent and new-in-box appliances in-store and online. All sales are final.
