164th Annual Berlin Fair kicks off with packed entertainment, yummy food, and rides for all

The 164th annual Berlin Fair opens June 17 through June 22.

MARNE, Mich. - It's that time of year again for the 164th Annual Berlin Fair! It's the longest running fair in Michigan -- packed with carnival rides, exciting entertainment and delicious foods for friends and family to enjoy. The fair kicks off on Monday, June 17 until Saturday, June 22.

The Berlin Fair is the longest running fair in Michigan and first started back in March of 1856. The fair was first named the Ottawa County Agricultural Society and was organized by twenty-one farmers who believed the fair would be beneficial in Marne, Mich.

The popular fair is jam packed with events, carnival rides and food! 

Event detail and admission are listed below:

There is free parking and general admission to fairgrounds for adults is $4, ages 10 and under enter for free. Grand Stand admission is an additional $4 gate charge and there are no glass or alcohol permitted. 

On Tuesday, June 18 guest can donation a nonperishable food item and get $1 off gate admission. Wednesday, Senior Citizens Day – 62 years old and up get in free all day. 

Thursday, June 20 is Disability Awareness Day and carnival rides will run from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. for special needs individuals, lunch will also be provided and you must RSVP for this event . 

Friday, June 22 is Kids Day the carnival will open at 1 p.m. for $1 rides and there will also be a Pedal Pullers for kids and you can also enter a drawing to win a bike. Saturday, June 22 is Veterans Day and veterans get in free all day.

The Grand Stand event this year will include the following:

  • Tuesday, June 18 – 3rd Annual Berlin Truck, Tractor, and Semi Pulls. Those interested in pulling, visit www.berlinfair.org for more information. 
  • Wednesday, June 19 – Michigan Truck and Tractor Pulls
  • Thursday, June 20– Unique Motor Sports Night of Destruction
  • Friday, June 21 – Broken Horn Rodeo brought to you. 

There will be livestock and horse shows going on all week long. Bingo and beer tent Monday through Saturday opening at 6 p.m. 

Some events back by popular demand are the Ultimate Air Dogs (Thursday-Saturday), the Great Lakes Timber Show – all week, and Farmer John’s Barnyard Express – all week. 

Carnival opens on Tuesday, June 18 at 5 p.m. and will be running through Saturday. If you purchase a wristband to ride the rides, you will be entered into a drawing to win a free car donated by Weller Self-Serve.  

The drawing for the car will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and the individual must be present to win.

Berlin Fair wouldn't be possible without their sponsors and volunteers; without their support the fair wouldn’t be able to have this community event and be able to support our youth with their 4H projects.

The Berlin Fairgrounds are in Marne, Michigan located at 2008 Berlin Fair Drive. Easily accessible at exit 23 off of I-96 between Grand Rapids and Muskegon.
