PORTLAND, Michigan — Four people are in custody following a drive-by shooting at an Ionia County park Monday evening.
An 18-year-old was shot at the Bogue Flats Recreation Area, a park in Portland, on Monday around 7:15 p.m. According to authorities, two groups were meeting at the park to fight when the teen was shot.
13 ON YOUR SIDE confirmed with authorities that 4 individuals were arrested in connected to the shooting Tuesday morning. The 18-year-old is expected to survive his injuries.
The arrests were the result of a multi-agency collaboration between the Portland Police Department, Michigan State Police, Ionia Public Safety, Ionia County Sheriff's Office and the Ionia County Central Dispatch.
Bogue Flats Recreational Area is a large park on the Grand River that has baseball and little league baseball fields. It also has two horse arenas.
