PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent District Library is holding a used book sale at one of its branches this weekend.

The Plainfield Township branch is hosting its Friends of the Library Fall Used Book Sale from Sept. 5 through Sept. 8.

The used book sale features hundreds of used books from all different genres and you can purchase an entire bag of books for just $5.

Regional Manager Penni Zurgable said you can't even tell that most of the books are used.

"You would swear they were brand new, most of it. We have very generous patrons in this area that donate. Sometimes you want to buy a book. You don't want to come to library check out. You want to keep it forever. So those wonderful books, instead of sitting on their shelves, people give them to us to sell, and it's fabulous. We have a great, very generous community," said Zurgable.

The proceeds from the event will go towards resources like new furniture for the library as well as programs they run like their home school art program.
