CALEDONIA, Mich. — For the last four years, The Old Grove Christmas Tree Farm in Caledonia has been bringing families in West Michigan a variety of Christmas trees to gather around for the holidays.
Tree farm owner Levi Dutcher is getting the chance of a lifetime to be featured on a national TV show, an opportunity he says he got from a group of realtors who visited his farm. The realtors travel around the country featuring special places. Dutcher said he is excited that they chose his tree farm. So many people wanted a tree from his farm, he’s considering a waiting list for next year to accommodate everyone.
“To be on national TV is exciting, Dutcher said. It kind of takes your breath away, because there's so many people that would like that opportunity."
Dutcher says over 1,000 people came to the tree farm on Black Friday, and over 300 people bought a Christmas Tree. He says some had to wait up to two hours just to get an opportunity to see the trees. To his surprise, he sold out early and as a small, local tree farm owner, he's grateful for those who chose his business for their Christmas tree needs.
"When people come out here, there's a bunch of places they can choose to come to, and they come out here, and they choose to support us, which really means a lot," Dutcher said.
Dutcher hopes to leave behind a legacy that his children and family will continue.
The farm will be featured on the national TV show, 'The American Dream' on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
