Fatal crash closes Byron Center Avenue overnight

Officers on the scene say one vehicle crashed into a tree, breaking into two pieces.

WYOMING, Mich. - Byron Center Avenue was closed Friday morning due to a fatal crash that happened overnight.

13 On Your Side first heard about a crash on Byron Center Avenue just south of Knollview SW around 2:30 a.m. Friday, June 1. The road reopened around 9 a.m.

One vehicle crashed into a tree, breaking into two pieces. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was killed.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Mychael Broyles of Wyoming.

According to the Wyoming Police Department, speed and alcohol are "likely factors" in the crash.
