Crews battle commercial fire in Muskegon

Crews responded to reports of the fire around midnight in Muskegon.

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The cause of a commercial fire in Muskegon overnight Wednesday is under investigation. 

According to authorities, it happened around midnight at a facility located at 1651 S. Walker Rd. First reports of the fire indicated there were flames and smoke coming from an industrial building in the area. 

When fire crews arrived, they encountered heavy flames. One semi-truck was one fire.

It took firefighters about an hour to knock down the fire. As of  5:10 a.m., crews main concern is putting out hot spots. 

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. It is used to clean and store portable restrooms.
