Guns found during a Kent County traffic stop.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Back in May, two men were arrested and charged with carrying concealed weapons and resisting and obstructing police. Now, one of those two men is heading to trial.

19-year-old Shyon Armstrong is bound over to circuit court on the charges. On May 30 he and Anthony Laster, also 19, were arrested after they had been seen in a group of people wearing masks and acting strange at a high school graduation ceremony.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom said the incident took place outside of Calvary Church, where Linked Learning had been holding its graduation. An officer at the ceremony said the group was barely paying attention to the ceremony and didn't even clap.

After the ceremony, the group was seen getting into one car, then getting out of that car and into another car with a duffle bag.

That’s when an officer decided to make a traffic stop.

During that stop, Armstrong and Laster ran and were caught with four guns; an AR-15, a handgun and two other firearms.

While Armstrong will be heading to trial soon, Laster's case is still in court.
