HOLLAND, Mich. — Ottawa County Dispatch says a juvenile suspect is in custody after a stabbing that happened early Saturday morning.
According to the Holland Department of Public Safety, the Holland Police Department received reports of a person being stabbed around 12:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Estates Mobile Home Park in Holland.
The Department of Public Safety says before responders arrived at the scene, the Holland Hospital called to report that a person arrived at the emergency department who had been stabbed.
Officials say the victim in the incident is a 19-year-old Holland man who had been in an altercation with the suspect. According to the report, during the incident, the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim, who was then taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
The Department of Public Safety says the suspect left the area before officers arrived.
However, deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office assisted Holland police officers who later located the suspect at a residence in Holland Township.
Reports say he was arrested and is lodged at the Ottawa County Youth Home.
