OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Two men are facing multiple charges, including murder, stemming from what deputies are calling a "road-rage incident" that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman from Grand Rapids.

Sha-Tera Coleman of Grand Rapids was killed after a Dodge Charger crossed the median in the area of Lake Michigan Drive near Trillium Lane in Tallmadge Township and hit Coleman's car. The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. on June 25, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

Denis Noel Perez, 42, was the driver of the Charger and is now charged with 2nd-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless driving causing death. Ethan Luke Oosterhouse, 23, is also facing the same charges as Perez.

Investigators believe that Perez and Oosterhouse were involved in a road rage incident prior to the crash with Coleman.

The investigation pointed to Perez and Oosterhouse allegedly speeding while driving aggressively and recklessly on the eastbound side of the road. Oosterhouse was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and allegedly made contact with Perez's Charger, which caused the car to head into westbound traffic, hitting Coleman's vehicle.

The case was presented to the Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney's Office where the criminal charges were authorized against Perez and Oosterhouse.

Detectives took both suspects into custody on Thursday, Aug. 15 without incident.

Perez and Oosterhouse were arraigned in 58th District Court on Friday and their bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety. Both men are currently lodged at the Ottawa County Jail.

Perez suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to Butterworth Hospital by Aero Med. Oosterhous suffered minor injuries from the crash.

This incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com.
