VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. — Over 19 months after 33-year-old Lashaun Keith was found dead in a field in Van Buren County, police have made two arrests in relation to the killing.

The two men arrested, identified as 29-year-old Bryan Wimbley from Hartford and 22-year-old Zachary Trainor from Watervliet, are facing open murder charges in relation to the death of Keith.

Investigators determined that Keith was assaulted and killed in Kalamazoo County and then had his body transported to Geneva Township in Van Buren County where it was later discovered on Nov. 3, 2022.

Trainor is also facing a charge of removal of a body without medical examiner permission.

The investigation was headed by the Major Case Unit which was comprised of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police. The report from the investigation was handed off to the Kalamazoo Prosecutors Office which authorized and issued the arrest warrants.

Both Wimbley and Trainor have been arraigned in the 8th District Court of Kalamazoo and are currently lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
