VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich — Three suspects are in custody and one is at large following a robbery at a marijuana dispensary in Lawrence early Sunday morning.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to TruLeaf Dispensary on Crandall Parkway around 3:30 a.m. after the owner reported seeing several people in the building via surveillance cameras.

When deputies arrived, they found multiple people loading bags of marijuana and other products from the store into a vehicle. Upon seeing the officers, the suspects ran back into the store.

Deputies said three of the suspects were able to find a door leading outside that wasn't covered and ran into the woods.

One of those suspects was later apprehended by deputies as he ran out of the woods and attempted to get into their getaway car. Another man was found inside the business and was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies said a third man was later found walking down I-94 near County Road 681. He disappeared into the woods north of the highway when he saw an officer sent to check the area. However, deputies said he was found walking north on County Road 681 and took him into custody. He was identified as one of the suspects in the robbery using surveillance video.

A fourth suspect still remains at large.

The vehicle used in the robbery was found to have been reported stolen out of Battle Creek.

All three subjects are lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on charges of burglary, forced entry, larceny in a building, possession of burglary tools and resisting and obstructing police.

All of the arrested suspects were men, aged 18-23, from the Battle Creek area.

Anyone with information or tips regarding this incident is asked to contact the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office at (269) 657-3101.
