3 people have non-life threatening injuries following shooting in parking lot of Battle Creek bar

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Three people have non-life threatening injuries following a shooting outside of a Battle Creek bar early Sunday morning, Battle Creek Police said.

The incident happened a little after 1 a.m. Sept. 15 when Battle Creek Police responded to the sound of gunshots in the Post Addition neighborhood.

Police determined that the shooting happened after a fight between two women in the parking lot of #1 Legends Club on Porter Street. Police said that an unknown man pulled out a gun and began shooting after the fight.

Three people showed up at the Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with gunshot wounds shortly after police responded to the scene.

A 45-year-old Battle Creek man was shot in the back, a 28-year-old Battle Creek man was shot in his leg and a 37-year-old Springfield woman was also shot in the leg. Police said that none of the injuries were life threatening.

Police said that they believe this to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.

Battle Creek Police did not say they had a suspect in the shooting.
