GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two people are dead and one is injured following an overnight shooting in Grand Rapids, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
GRPD said officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue SW around 1 a.m.
This is an area popular for entertainment in Grand Rapids, with several bars nearby and The Intersection music venue across the street. The location is also a block west of the Studio Park entertainment complex.
Police said one man was shot and killed at the scene and a second man was taken to the hospital where he later died. A third man was also injured in the shooting and arrived at the hospital later.
GRPD said the shooting is under investigation.
