6-year-old shot while in bed, expected to recover

GRPD tells us it happened around 1:10 a.m. Sunday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police are investigating a shooting that injured a child in their own home on Brown Street. They say it happened around 1:10 a.m. Sunday.

GRPD tells us a suspect shot at the house. A bullet struck the 6-year-old child while they were in bed. Police say the bullet grazed the child's arm.  

The child is expected to recover.

Police say it's unclear if it was a targeted attack. There are no suspects at this time.
