BARRY COUNTY, Mich. — Two suspects are charged with the alleged murder of a 79-year-old Battle Creek man.
The Barry County Sheriff's Office said just after noon on Wednesday, May 29, deputies got a call about a man lying in the driveway.
Deputies found Jimmy L. Sykes dead in a driveway in the 4300 block of E. Cloverdale Road in Baltimore Township.
Detectives have two suspects linked to the killings, and both are in custody.
Barry County Prosecutor Julie Pratt said her office is withholding the names of the suspects pending their arraignments, but did confirm what charges they face.
Both suspects are charged with one count of open murder and a habitual offender enhancement. Those charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison.
