POLKTON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — 59-year-old Bryan Lee Moore from Coopersville has been charged and arraigned in an arson incident from over the weekend.
On Sunday Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies and numerous fire agencies responded to a residence on fire in the 13000 Block of 68th Ave. Polkton Township.
The Sheriff's Office said it was determined that nobody was inside the residence and they found nobody was injured in the fire.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident with help from Michigan State Police. While they have still not found the cause and origin of the fire, they determined it was intentionally set.
The damage to the home was extreme and the home is believed to be a total loss according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Moore, a resident in the home, was identified as a suspect. He had left the scene of the fire on foot shortly after it began. Deputies later found him and took him into custody.
Moore has been charged with Second Degree Arson and arraigned in the 58th District Court. His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety. He remains at the Ottawa County Jail.
Three other adults and a child also lived in the home although they were not home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross was contacted and responded to assist them with living arrangements.
