ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Former Michigan football QB and current staffer Denard Robinson has been suspended indefinitely following an OWI arrest, the Detroit News reports.
Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore announced his suspension Monday evening, according to Detroit News Michigan football reporter Angelique Chengelis:
The suspension comes after Robinson was arrested for an OWI following a single car crash in Ann Arbor early Monday morning.
ESPN reporter Adam Rittenberg shared a statement from an Ann Arbor police spokesperson regarding the arrest:
"Robinson, 33, was arrested for OWI after being involved in a single vehicle crash at E. Eisenhower Parkway and S. State on 4/15/24 at approximately 3:05am. Charges are pending toxicology results."
Robinson played for the University of Michigan from 2009 until 2012 before being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for the Jaguars until 2016. Robinson joined the Michigan football coaching staff as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2022.
This is the second Michigan football staffer to be arrested for alleged drunk driving in a month. Defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was suspended following an arrest in March. He resigned less than a week later.
