KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Police in Kalamazoo recovered stolen firearms, crack cocaine and ecstasy on Saturday.
Around 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, officers were investigating reports of suspicious activity at the Fox Ridge Apartments. Once in the area, officers pulled over a vehicle with three people inside.
Investigation lead to the recovery of a stolen, loaded .45 caliber handgun, suspected crack cocaine and MDMA, also known as ecstasy, were seized.
A 30-year-old Kalamazoo resident and two 22-year-old Kalamazoo residents were arrested and charged with crimes including carrying a concealed weapon, receiving and concealing stolen property, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute MDMA.
Later in the evening, just before 11 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired on Riverview Drive near Bridge Street.
Authorities were able to stop the vehicle involved and found three loaded 9mm handguns, including one that was previously reported stolen.
A 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident and a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident were arrested and charged with crimes including carrying a concealed weapon, receiving and concealing stolen property, and felony firearm. Another suspect was located at a nearby residence, and a stolen, loaded .45 caliber handgun was recovered. This 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving and concealing stolen property, and felony firearm.
No citizens, officers or suspects were injured during either of these incidents.
