KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — Officers are investigating after what began as a report of a traffic crash led to them finding the 25-year-old driver dying from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, officers were originally called to the 900 block of Jackson Street around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a crash.
Officers said when they arrived at the scene, they discovered that the driver, a 25-year-old Kalamazoo man, later identified as Bader Momamed Farwana, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Although officers said they tried to save his life, KDPS said he died at the scene.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to KDPS.
