OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) has reported they are investigating a man for Fraud by False Pretenses after he allegedly accepted money for home improvement projects that were never completed.

OCSO said the investigation has been ongoing as it began in July of 2023 when an Ottawa County resident reported paying Blackstone Partners LLC for construction work that was never completed.

During their investigation, authorities found that several sub-contractors had done work for Blackstone Partners LLC but were never fully paid for their work.

After OCSO turned the investigation over to the Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, criminal charges were authorized.

The owner of Blackstone Partners LLC, 30-year-old Wesley Pawloski from Grand Rapids, was charged with three counts of Felony Contractor Fraud in August of 2024.

In Sept. 2024, detectives on the investigation learned that Pawloski was continuing to accept money for construction projects under a new business name, Designed Construction LLC.

As with the previous jobs Pawloski had accepted payment for, these people also reported paying him under the new name for home improvement projects that he never completed.

Investigators were able to determine that Designed Construction LLC also belonged to Pawloski.

In all, the various victims from home owners to business owners were defrauded of over $100,000.

Pawloski was charged an additional count of Felony Contractor Fraud by the Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Sheriff's Detectives found Pawloski in Grand Rapids on Oct. 29 and took him into custody. He was arraigned on Oct. 30 and Nov. 5 and given a combined bond of $50,000 cash/surety.

Pawloski posted bond and was released from custody. Detectives have been communicating with neighboring police agencies regarding victims in other jurisdictions around West Michigan.

The case is still under investigation, anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com
