Meijer theft leaves cashier injured in Lowell

The Kent County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that left a Meijer cashier injured. Deputies responded to the Lowell Meijer around 8:30 a.m Saturday, June 3.

 

The Kent County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that left a Meijer cashier injured. Deputies responded to the Lowell Meijer around 8:30 a.m Saturday, June 3.

The department tells us a man walked out of the store with several hundreds dollars of liquor bottles without paying.

A Meijer employee confronted the man in the parking lot and the two began arguing. Police say the suspect's car door was open and as he backed up he hit the employee. The cashier was dragged a few feet and was left with minor injuries.

Police say they are working leads on the identity of the man. They urge anyone who has any information on this incident to contact the Kent County Sheriff's Office at 616-632-6100.
