Multiple teens arrested in connection with stolen car, credit cards

The Kent County Sheriff's Office arrested five suspects between the ages of 16 and 20 years old.

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Five suspects, mostly teenagers, were arrested Wednesday after a stolen car led police on a chase that ended with it ramming detectives' vehicles.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) arrested five people between the ages of 16 and 20 years old in connection to a stolen car and credit cards.

Wednesday evening, an off-duty KCSO detective reported observing suspicious activity in the Gaines Township Meijer.

When on-duty KCSO deputies arrived at the Meijer, they found the suspects in a white car and pursued it. Detectives said that the suspects' car attempted to drive away and rammed multiple KCSO vehicles.

That's when the suspects got out of the car and ran away, police said.

All five suspects were located and arrested thanks to the help of the community and the Kentwood Police Department.

The case has been sent to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office for review.
