Muskegon man shot, killed in his home

Officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the man died while on the way to the hospital.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Early Monday, a Muskegon man was shot and killed in his home.

The Muskegon Police Department said they responded to a report of shots fired around 2:18 a.m. in the 1000 block of Sophia Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old Muskegon man who had been shot inside his home.

Officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene. However, the man died from his injuries while on the way to the hospital.

Muskegon Police Department detectives are investigating the incident. Authorities said the shooting did not appear to be random.
