One person hospitalized after Grand Rapids shooting

Authorities said shots were heard in the area of 7th and Broadway around 3 p.m. Friday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — One person was hurt in an apparent shooting incident on Grand Rapids' northwest side Friday afternoon.

Just before 3:00 p.m. officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) were dispatched to the area of Broadway Ave. NW and 7th St. NW after a caller reported hearing gunshots.

GRPD told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that they did not find a victim at the scene. However, an adult man showed up at a local hospital around 3:30 p.m. with several gunshot wounds.

Police said they do not have a suspect in custody yet as of 7:00 p.m. Friday. They are continuing to investigate.
