GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — UPDATE: On Wednesday, August 5, the Kent County Prosecutor's Office authorized a multi-count warrant for the deaths of Jaionna Michelle Braden, 20, and Quavon Shamar Lee, 23, who were found dead in a car on June 8, 2020.
Juan Nico Garcia, 30, of Grand Rapids has been charged with open murder in those deaths. He is currently in custody at the Kent County Correctional Facility.

Two people were found dead this morning in a car on the southeast side of the city.
Grand Rapids Police were called after gunshot sounds rang out in the 800 block of Bemis Street SE just before midnight on Sunday, June 7.
"They find a car in the area, it's running and when they check on the occupants find two individuals inside, one male one female and both deceased from what appeared to be gunshot wounds," said Sgt. Dan Adams with GRPD.
Jaionna Michelle Braden, 20, and Quavon Shamar Lee, 23, were pronounced dead on scene. Both victims are from Grand Rapids.
No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information at this time.
Local leaders like Kent County Commissioner Robert S. Womack are urging people with information to come forward.
"I would ask people that have information to please come forward with that information, learn from my tears before it ends up happening to your friends or your family, each time someone gets away with murder it inspires others to get away with murder," says Womack.
