The third suspect believed involved in Saturday's traffic stop and shootings in Grand Rapids has been caught.
Multiple police cruisers responded around noon Tuesday, Nov. 1, to Hamilton Avenue between Leonard and 11th streets NW on a report of the suspect in the area, Grand Rapids Police Lt. Patrick Merrill said.
Grand Rapids Police Sgt. Terry Dixon says the third suspect, a 22-year-old man, is currently being interviewed by police, but has not been arrested. Police are trying to determine what his involvement was in the Saturday incident, and to determine if they should seek charges against this man.
Police sought an "armed and dangerous" man Saturday after he allegedly ran away from a car on the Pearl Street ramp at U.S. 131. That car was wanted in two shootings earlier in the day in the city's Black Hills neighborhood.
Two other men were pulled from the car and arrested, including Anthony Sprague, who was sentenced to a year in prison for violating terms of his release for a 2009 weapons offense and 2014 escape.
