Battle Creek police detectives and the FBI are searching for a man who robbed a Battle Creek bank on Saturday, the second robbery at the location in less than a month.
Officers were dispatched at 11:40 a.m. to Fifth Third Bank at 630 Capital Ave. S.W. at Territorial Road. Officers flooded the area, but the suspect was not located. They also canvassed the area and spoke to residents near the bank.
The man implied he had a weapon upon entry, but one was not seen, police said. He reportedly fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The man was described as white, between 5-feet-9 and 5-feet-11 inches tall with a skinny build and a day's growth of facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored, lightweight, two-toned polyester hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes.
Police would not say if the man made off with any money. No injuries were reported.
Police believe it might be the same man who robbed the Fifth Third Bank on July 15. At the time of that robbery, tellers told police officials a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a mask entered the bank demanding money. He did not show a weapon or imply he had one during that robbery, police said.
