HOLLAND, Mich. — Holland authorities have identified and released the name of one of the victims in Monday night's shooting in Holland.
Monday night shortly after 8 p.m. officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety (HDPS) responded to reports of shots fired near Michigan Avenue and 22nd Street.
Investigators now say they've learned that two vehicles pulled into the parking lot of Moran Park Church and then parked next to each other. They said that shortly after the vehicles had arrived shots were fired.
While one vehicle fled the scene, the two victims drove their vehicle to a nearby hospital.
The first victim, 33-year-old Cassandra Casares from Holland, died from her injuries. The male victim is reportedly still at the hospital but is in stable condition.
Authorities said they are continuing to investigate and follow up on all leads.
