Why were Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputies in Grand Rapids on Monday?

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids residents may have noticed a heavy police presence near the intersection of Ann St. and Turner Ave. on Monday.

At the scene there were officers from both the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).

13 ON YOUR SIDE reached out to OCSO to ask why there was such a heavy presence, they told us they were executing a search warrant with the assistance of GRPD.

The search warrant was in relation to a stolen property investigation. Ottawa County Sheriff Captain Jake Sparks could not share any more information with us as of Tuesday.
