You can now find me in the morning. Really early in the morning. So let's grab a cup of coffee and catch up.
After eleven years as sports anchor at WZZM 13, I was named co-anchor of the WZZM 13 Morning News in the summer of 2014. The chance to work with the most fun-loving, energetic morning news team in West Michigan was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
I came to WZZM 13 in the summer of 2003 after graduating from Southern Illinois University. As a native of the Chicago suburbs, Grand Rapids felt like home from the moment I arrived - beautiful summers, a quick drive to Lake Michigan, lots of snow, and friendly people.
While in the sports department, I've covered the country following our Michigan teams. I traveled to San Francisco for the World Series, Atlanta for the Final Four, Pittsburgh for the Stanley Cup Finals, San Antonio for the NBA Finals and was on the ice in Syracuse when the Grand Rapids Griffins won the 2013 Calder Cup.
I will love sports (specifically hockey) forever. I will play goalie until I give up too many goals and am forced into retirement. But there's more to West Michigan than just sports. I look forward to telling those stories each morning and giving you a smile or a laugh to start your day.
My dog Murray and I live on the northeast side of Grand Rapids. Murray is the fastest dog in town and keeps me in great shape. If you ever see me and a blonde-haired, blue-eyed pup running around Kruse Park in Muskegon or Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, please say hello.
This is our home. Thank you for inviting me, Lauren and Aaron into yours. As I'm finding out… mornings really ARE better.
