MICHIGAN, USA — A new ranking of the best-in-state hospitals of 2024 lists 16 hospitals from Michigan among the nation's best.
Newsweek released their list of America's best-in-state hospitals of 2024, recognizing 600 of the nation's best and ranking them by state.
Michigan had 16 hospitals on the list, including one receiving the third highest score in the nation.
Here's how Newsweek ranked the top 16 hospitals in Michigan:
- University of Michigan Hospitals - Michigan Medicine: 96.44% Ann Arbor
- Henry Ford Hospital: 87.95% Detroit
- Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital: 85.23% West Bloomfield
- Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak: 84.26% Royal Oak
- St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital: 82.46% Chelsea
- Beaumont Hospital - Grosse Pointe: 81.78% Grosse Pointe
- Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital: 81.38% Ypsilanti
- Bronson Methodist Hospital: 81.06% Kalamazoo
- Mclaren Northern Michigan: 80.36% Petoskey
- Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital: 80.17% Cadillac
- Beaumont Hospital - Troy: 79.86% Troy
- Holland Hospital: 79.73% Holland
- Ascension St. John Hospital: 79.47% Detroit
- E.W. Sparrow Hospital: 79.47% Lansing
- Osf St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group: 78.96% Escanaba
- McLaren Central Michigan: 78.82% Mount Pleasant
The University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine facility in Ann Arbor not only took the top spot in the state, but also ranked third overall in the country behind only the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and UCLA Health's Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The rankings were determined by surveys of health care professionals and patients, hospital quality metrics and patient-reported outcomes.
