GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Corewell Health Grand Rapids released their list of the most popular baby names in West Michigan from 2023.
The list was compiled from all of the births so far this year at Butterworth Hospital.
Corewell Health delivered over 30,000 babies across the state in 2023.
This year's top baby names include some classics as well as some newcomers to the list.
2023's Top Baby Boy Names at Corewell Health in West Michigan
- Theodore
- Oliver
- Henry
- Miles
- James
- Liam
- Maverick
- Ezra
- Leo
- Noah
Theodore was the most popular boy name in 2023, taking the place of Oliver, which was 2022's most popular. Theodore, Oliver, Henry, Miles, Liam and Noah were also in the top 10 most popular names in 2022.
2023's Top Baby Girl Names at Corewell Health in West Michigan

- Amelia
- Isla
- Olivia
- Sophia
- Evelyn
- Nora
- Harper
- Emma
- Ava
In 2023, Charlotte took the top spot, moving up two ranks and replacing Evelyn as the most popular girl name from 2022. Charlotte, Amelia, Evelyn, Olivia, Sophia, Nora and Emma all appeared in the top 10 in 2022 as well.
A study of baby names across the country in November shows Olivia, Emma and Amelia to be the top three girl names and Noah, Liam and Oliver as the top three boy names.
