MICHIGAN, USA — Drugstore chain Rite Aid is closing an additional 27 stores in the Midwest as it continues to go through the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process.
In court documents filed Monday, Rite Aid is closing 12 more stores in Michigan and 15 stores in Ohio.
Back in 2021, Rite Aid announced plans to close stores in the U.S. to save around $25 million a year following other pharmacy chains shuttering locations.
Since then, the company closed more than 200 stores.
